On April 29,(2021) United States celebrated the first 100 days of 46th president, Joseph Biden after four years of Trump’s chaotic administration. Nobody belonging to Trump’s administration or outside it, was not sure to which direction Trump’s policy is really mooring. He had never right professionalism in tackling either the economy, foreign affairs, domestic policies or pandemic.
During the 2nd world war, world leadership was in the hands of great Britain, after the war great Britain was no more in a position to continue as a world leader. Only United States of America was in the best position to accept the world leadership. During the time of 2nd world war, Winston Churchill was the prime minister of Britain, he was a brilliant leader in all senses of the term.
He perfectly understands from where the wind is blowing. He took urgent initiative to back United States of America to take world’s leadership and accordingly it was done. With all its sincerity United Kingdom had been co-operating with America for the last seventy five years so that America performs its role as a world leader successfully to the satisfaction of all concerned.
Unfortunately Donald Trump, an established business magnet without even minimum experience in politics was nominated as the presidential candidate by the Republican party for presidential election held in the year 2016 and was easily elected as the new president of United States of America.
Soon after the election he openly declared that he is not ready to understand beyond American interest in international politics. During his four years tenure as the President of America, almost every day, he made various remarks openly without any minimum diplomatic decency that totally damaged American image as a great power with an un-parallel image all over the world.
He declared himself as a nationalist American and he openly declared that he understands nothing other than the American interest. After Trump’s equivocal declaration, Europe decided to find its own way. China took full advantage of the available situation and formed R.C.I.P trade group under its own leadership.
In this group Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea also joined with Asian countries. According to U.S custom Mr.Biden who was celebrating the eve of his 100 days in office quickly pivoted to insisting that this natural effort must now focus on rebuilding the economy and fighting inequality with the largest job plans since World War II. Biden said during Trump’s administration American working class had been ignored mercilessly while the top one percent got richer because of Trump’s policy.
Trump made many references to arch rival china also. Biden only said that while Beijing seeking supremacy, we are ready to welcome competition not looking for any sort of conflict.
Biden said no one nation can succeed alone, while rebuking of Trump’s isolationist policies. On the domestic issues, Biden urgently included police reforms and the gun-control. These are the most sensitive issues as far as Americans are concerned.
President Biden stressed to rebuild co-operation and trust between law enforcement agency and the people it serves to up-root systematic and intentional racism in our criminal Justice. Biden also fervently urges democrats as well to work together on one of the nation’s most important topics, saying let us end our exhausting war of immigration.
On April 22, 2021 President Biden calls a global summit on climate change. As 2020 was a year marked by pandemic and one of the hottest year on record. Also it is the year of growing poverty. Leaders of 40 countries were invited. Among them G-20 leaders were invited and small countries like Gabon,Bhutan,Antiqua and Marshall Islands from Asian regions,Vietnam,Bangladesh and Singapore. It is very interesting to know that pope francis was also invited so that the conference may have a moral tone.
So far as it seems, Joe Biden will sincerely work for the overall success of global climate change. By this time, Biden has already given to significant commitment. (a)He committed to cut U.S emissions at least in half from 2005 level by 2030.The second is to double annual public climate financing development to developing countries by 2024.
President Biden has taken a decision to pull out of Afghanistan and making overtures to Iran. This is a decision of president Biden to withdraw American soldiers from Afghanistan forever. In American history so far, Afghanistan war was the longest one.
Though America is withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan but it is actually a clear and decisive defeat on the part of America. America also found no other way but to prove that Afghanistan is a permanent grave for all the invaders including the army of Alexander the great, the British army and the Russian army and ultimately United States of America had to choose the same way.
However, Biden doubled U.S current climate finance aid of U.S 2.5 billion to U.S.D 5.7 billion by 2024. It is still a mere 0.03 percent of its 2020 G.D.P. It cannot be said generous compared with the 1948 Marshal plan of USD 12 billion or 4.3 percent of the 1948 G.D.P.
Biden with his vast experience as the former vice president of America and as the former Chairman of foreign relations committee in American senate, we are sure that he will do his job as the president splendidly.
